This should be as good a moment as any to get started on the speculation (the bread & butter of any webcomic forum ). So if there IS a civilization out there, Dawn's slight, er, incompetency could get a nice explanation: maybe she's just on some "back to the nature" self-discovery trip?

Okay, so there isn't enuff yet to get any substantial hypothetizing going, but I was wondering when the time-paradox inherent in the premise would be address'd. Starting to look very promising now!

yeah, I mean it's true that in nature, higher beasts and such do tend to seek out intoxicating facets of mother nature, i.e. fermented berries or shrooms or what have you.

And since Dawn is probably the most sentient of such beasts, she probably can have a ball on whatever is growing in that ancient forest unchallenged.
