Same here (came from the Webcomic forums).

I love how the fish keep getting out of the water to take the first steps of evolving into land animals only to constantly be killed. :) DENIED!

Is this still in the past? If so, can those two brothes travel at will or they stuck too? If they can travel freely, does that mean Mantell's homefree? Have I gotten this wrong?

Nope, it was just another lungfish setup. :) They are in the city from strip 35.

Mantell's just speaking really fancy English now, isn't he? ;)
Also, I wonder how they paid for their lungfish. (They did, right?)

If those guys had gotten payment from everyone who threw up in their establishment they probably wouldn't be so worried about their business. :)

I spy with my little eye a Mario look-a-like. Am I right? 8-)

That you are! :) I guess if people are actually looking at crowd scenes like that I'll have to make more of an effort to draw better looking people..

It's cuz I care I look. Coincidentally, Dawn's expressions for these last two pages are sort of priceless. Unlike that mirror I'm guessing..

EDIT: That was a good save.

Probably not, however I have translated his language into the nearest English equivilant for your convenience.

Since economics precede the written word (the earliest written languages originated to keep track of purchases and sales!) you can be sure that merchants were using some sort of high-fallutin' concept word even back then to describe their business.

Considering the sun moved behind her back, did Dawn actually look at herself for all that time or did she simply move a little bit to the right?
I personally think the first idea would be funnier.

In my rough pencil version of this strip it actually was the angry sun from Super Mario 3, so there is a third option to consider as well.

I think it should have stayed the sm3 sun! Ok, well maybe not, but the idea sure gives me the giggles.

Re: the author's comments under the comic for Feb. 11 2009 ...

I *like* to play with long necks. Especially during Happy Hour when they're $1.50 each. (And no, when I drink I do not get "horny". Sheesh.)

There are way too many good games this month. I picked up Deadly Creatures and Tenchu but I'm going to have to wait on Street Fighter IV and Star Ocean. And the beginning of next month is MadWorld.

I need to find cheaper hobbies.

MadWorld looks awesome. I just hope it actually stays awesome through the whole game. I was really surprised to see all the hype at GameStop for it, they had posters everywhere. Not necessarily for violent games specifically, but I really hope it kicks the door open for more traditional "gamer" games on the Wii from 3rd parties. Surely if you make them, people will buy them, right?

I wish that were true, but people pushed Zack & Wiki heavily and no one bought it (I have to admit I only bought it when it was $20, but I didn't have the cash at the time to pay full price).

IGN said on their Wii podcast they're several hours in and they're absolutely loving it. They actually said it's Game of the Year material and is the game to beat (I assume they mean specifically for Wii games, not overall GotY).

I'm also starting to get geared up for The Conduit. I'm just so happy to see so many good games come out on the Wii this year after three years of just being terrible. I actually see myself buying more Wii games this year than 360 at this point. In fact I'm probably going to sell my copy of The Force Unleashed (360) to finish paying for my preorders of MadWorld and The Conduit.

This Wii talk has me wanting to go crack open Tenchu or Deadly Creatures right now. Time to dust the system off. :)

Oh, did you ever play No More Heroes? By far one of my favorite Wii games and I'm looking forward to the sequel at the end of the year/beginning of next year.
