Did you know that the spikes on the end of Stegosaurus (and related dinosaurs) is called a Thagomizer, after the late Thag Simmons? The term was coined by Gary Larson in The Far Side, but it was later picked up by actual paleontologists (it's hard for me to imagine anyone using it with a straight face) in actual scientific presentations.
