While in Seattle this week I had a chance to play around a bit with one of those D-Rex toys that may or may not have been all the rage over the holiday. The closest I had ever been to seeing one in person before was an ad for Duracell batteries, so it was pretty cool, I didn't really get a feel for how big or charismatic the little guy is from seeing videos online. When I was 12 or so, my brother and I received a similar toy for Christmas, it was this hilarious walking dinosaur skeleton that would march noisily forward and then pause to shake its head and front arms back and forth (and roar, if you could hear it over the whirring of its mechanisms) when you pressed a button on the accompanying remote control. For what it lacked in functionality, it more than made up for it in WTF factor.
