I just saw
CJ7 by Stephen Chow, the director of such greats as Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, and I gotta tell you, it was excellent. If you enjoy the quirky humor of his other movies, then I don't think this will disappoint (it even has a bit of his wacky Kung Fu as well). At first I really didn't know what to expect from the movie, I had a feeling it might be aimed at young kids, but the show is just so strange that in the end I don't know who it was aimed at. Not only that, but it's got some sad moments, and you can normally take that with a grain of salt from me, because I tear up at pretty much every movie I see. But my girlfriend--perhaps I am finally rubbing off on her--told me that a movie had never made her cry before, so there you have it. Maybe it just takes a really strange movie to move some people.
